德怀特Bacquie

德怀特Bacquie is an actor 和 voice 和 speech teacher who’s been teaching for more than 30 years. Jamaican by birth, he has lived in both Canada 和 the U.S. while working in the acting profession. His formal training was at Concordia University, Montreal, 和 the Yale School of 戏剧. While in Canada, he was artistic director of Black Theater Workshop, Inc., screenplay assessor for Ontario Film Development Corporation, 和 the recipient of numerous Canada Council Arts grants.

Bacquie’s extensive experience includes the Stratford Festival acting company, 和 he has performed in many Canadian 和 U.S. 场馆. His stage performances include Donny in 美国布法罗 at Portl和 Stage, Antonio in 《欧洲杯彩票》 内心的噪音, Hassan in The Phantom of the Opera (the play) at Theatre Outremont, Isaac in 改变看法 at the Harold Clurman Theater, Warren in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at Leah Posluns Theatre, Stanley in Playboy of the West Indies at Centaur Theater, Marcus in 提多安多尼古 at Theater WUM, Fabian in 第十二夜 at the Stratford Festival, Snout in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, creating the role of Simon in Sherry Coman’s 说斑马 at Theatre Passe Muraille, 和 《欧洲杯竞彩》 内心的噪音. In 1991, Bacquie did speech teacher training with Deborah Hecht at NYU-Tisch 和 Juilliard. Other postgraduate training in voice 和 speech includes workshops with Richard Neoczym (Grotowski-influenced voice performance), 帕特西Rodenburg, in breathing (VASTA Conference, 2002), Phonetic Pillows (with Louis Colaianni), 和 KT 演讲 (“Which American Accent?”). He has also taught voice 和 speech at First Act 戏剧 School (Montreal), voice at Fresh Elements School (Toronto), voice at California State Summer School for the Arts, accents 和 dialects at Stella Adler Academy (Los Angeles), voice 和 dialects for Actors’ Comedy Studio, 和 American speech at Edgemar Center for the Arts. He was head of voice 和 speech at New School of 戏剧 (Toronto) 和 he has worked as a production coach 和 private voice 和 speech coach. His private students have included Samantha Mathis, Noah Silver, Megan Boone, 和 Patrick Dempsey. His most recent production coaching credit was as voice 和 dialects coach for the world premiere of Donnetta Lavinia Grays’ Last Night 和 the Night Before at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. 最近, Bacquie has begun voice acting 和, in 2015, performed multiple roles in the audio book of the American Book Award-winning novel, A Brief 历史 of Seven Killings, an account of the assassination attempts on the life of reggae superstar Bob Marley.
